Inspectors usually ask to see your written programs, training records and OSHA logs. The 29Safety safety team writes your written programs, filled in with your company and cited to the OSHA rule.

What inspectors usually ask to see

At the opening conference, the inspector names the records to be reviewed. For most employers it is usually the same list.

Written programs

The written programs the standards name for the hazards on site.

OSHA 300, 300A and 301

The OSHA 300 log, 300A summaries and 301 reports for this year and the four before it.

29 CFR 1904.33, 1904.40

Training records

Training records for the people doing the work the inspector watched.

Competent person designations

In writing: the person, the task, and what makes them competent.

Equipment inspection records

Inspection logs with dates and names: forklift, scaffold, excavation, crane.

Safety data sheets

The safety data sheets for the chemicals on site.

The JHA and the toolbox talk

The JHA and the toolbox talk for the task that drew attention.

Your chemical list, and how labels, safety data sheets and training are handled.

Questions

Anything else: safetyteam@29safety.com, or book a free 15-minute call.

Is 29Safety part of OSHA?
No. 29Safety is a private company. It is not OSHA or any government agency, and it does not represent you before OSHA.
Can you help with my citation?
For questions about your citation, talk with your attorney or the OSHA area office. 29Safety writes your written programs and keeps your safety records. It does not give legal advice.
Does 29Safety guarantee we pass the next inspection?
No, and be careful of anyone who says they can. 29Safety writes your programs from the rule, with the section cited so you can check it. You review them, and your people run them on the job.
What if the inspector asked for a program that isn't in the library?
We write it as a custom program ($349).
